Going to keep this blog post short if I can help it. I’m so mad I can barely even type properly.
My friend randomly out of the blue tells me that Twilight beat Harry Potter for the MTV Movie of the Year award. My first reaction was the yell WHATTT over and over. Duh, I love Harry Potter. The books, the movie, everything. Brilliant stuff. But it got beaten by TWILIGHT. FRICKING TWILIGHT. What the hell??
So, she links me to the website. Seems harmless, yes? WRONG. When I click, the first thing I see is a banner that says something about me being Canadian and that I had to go to the “Canadian MTV website”. What the f ? What, is there something wrong about me being Canadian, that I can’t even read about the worst movie ever made beating the best series in the world? So that already pissed me off, and even further, I can’t even watch the stupid videos because of my “region” .________. Ruined my day, I’ll tell you that.
As for next year’s award, Harry Potter is going to win. The series has been around for ten years, and Twilight? What, four years? Harry Potter deserves it.
Ah, my thoughts are all jumbled up…. I’m ending this post here, maybe I’ll expand a bit more when I’m feeling a bit calm. =_____=
Edit: Turns out I did a twilight rant on my deviantart a year ago.. Just because the fact that Twilight won upsets me so much, I’m going to post it.
I’m really frustrated overall.
Where to start…
I guess I should start with the characters.
BELLA.
Oh god. She annoys the heck out of me. All I’ve seen so far is
“I love you because you’re glamorous and hot!”
and
“I’m lonely!”
and
“WHERE IS EDWARD”
and
“I’m going to die! Save me!!”
Yeah.
She’s so useless it’s not even funny. All she ever does is drool over “hot” guys, and rely on everyone else for everything. Really, you find a VAMPIRE.
Hold on. Let me define VAMPIRE for you, in my words.
Vampire – a vicious, blood-thirsty demon, whom is merciless and above all:
DOES NOT SPARKLE.
How the heck did Stephanie Meyers come up with that?
Oh, I know!
‘Normal vampires are boring. I’ll just make Edward here sparkle so he’s special.’
This goes against pretty much everything EVER written about vampires.
VAMPIRES
DO
NOT
FREAKING
SPARKLE.
Back to Bella,
she is the most useless female character I’ve ever seen. I mean, even Sakura from Naruto becomes pretty kickass later on, but Bella has no character development at all. She couldn’t even hurt a fly even if her life depended on it.
Of course, Edward would do that for her because she’s too pretty to get dirty with such trivial matters. =_=
Speaking of Edward, his case is similar to Bella’s.
He has no character development, and he “loves” Bella just because she smells nice?
Seriously?
He’s shallower than a puddle on a sunny day.
Like Bella.
Anyhow, if you think about it, Edward is a pedophile. Really, he’s older than anyone should be, and now he’s stalking this 16, 17, 18? year old girl who’s useless.
At least he should have picked someone more useful ._.
Not once in the book do they mention the words fangs.
You know, the sharpened teeth all vampires have to tear through their prey’s neck flesh?
Yeah, obviously Edward is missing that.
Going to the “werewolf” Jacob.
He’s not a freakin werewolf.
He’s a shapeshifter.
Werewolves don’t transform at will, and even when they do, they have no control over what they’re doing. Oh, and please. A wolf pack? Last time I checked, werewolves are solitary and dangerous. He doesn’t do anything. He’s a pathetic attempt to add any drama to the already boring relationship Edward and Bella have.
Let’s talk about the plot, shall we?
I can sum up the entire series in three sentences. Just watch me.
A suicidal girl meets a vampire who thinks she smells good, and they suddenly, randomly fall in “love”. They go on adventures and the vampire fights with a shapeshifter-werewolf-wannabe for her love. They get married and Bella becomes a vampire.
The end.
That’s a really crappy plot. My 5 year old cousin could come up with a better plot.
All in all, I don’t feel like typing more about this horrid excuse for a book. I’m wasting my time.
